I just moved to San Francisco! Well temporarily. I am in the city for 4 weeks and here are my plans:

Work on my startup

First and foremost, my goal is to bring a solution to the market that people care about and want to pay for. I want to start a company and scale it to Private ARR before the end of the year. This is going to require a lot of hard work, focus, and discipline. I have come to SF to accelerate that process by surrounding myself with smart people, asking a lot of questions to founders, and finding a co-founder. But before all that can actually be helpful, I need to identify a deep unmet need and validate it.

That is my primary goal for my time in San Francisco. Work a lot to find a deep unmet need that I can build a solution for and bring it to market. Everything else is secondary.

Surround myself with smart people

While I am exploring unmet needs in large markets that I can address, it will be nice to surround myself with people who have been-there-done-that or smart people in general. I believe that if you want to run faster you should run with people who are faster than you.

There are three kinds of people I will try to spend all my free time with:

Find a co-founder

While I am technical and can write code, it would be great to have a technical co-founder who is smart and I enjoy working with. It would help make the process of building a company more fun, less lonely, and improve my chances of success with 2 heads working on it instead of one.

I have a couple of people in mind. I will spend time becoming better friends with them, share ideas, and get their help on building a prototype. If I don’t find a co-founder that is still okay, I will continue building and be passively talking to people on the side.

Explore San Francisco

San Francisco is a beautiful city and I want to spend time outdoors biking, running, hiking. Each Saturday/Sunday I will bike around a new park/neighborhood in the city. I plan to move here in July and I will have scoped out a neighborhood to live in before I leave next month.
